I think that a lot people are missing that in the comments for that particular article there were also a lot of well throughout and worded arguments against what the author was saying. But no one ever seems to recognize or acknowledge that, they simply focus on which comments prove there own point. That being said, I am not sure how someone can write an article like that an not expect negative feedback anyways. Everyone acts like he proved some grand point about human existence, but in all reality all that happened was someone posted an article to the effect of 'You are dumb and here is why' and then filled it was assumptions and vague notions. I don't really see how it's right to criticize someone for reacting unfavorably to that, even if the article itself was fair and balanced the headline was not. The headline was inflammatory and that's all the people on N4G see when they click on it. There is no fanboy caste system where one group is inherently less flawed an incorrect in there action then another group. Xbox, PS3, Wii, and PC there pretty much all the same, they all want the same thing and go about getting it in the same way, nothing anyone posts is really going to change that or stop it, only add fuel to the fire. Which is what Greenburg was doing, and I feel that that is fundamentally wrong for someone is his position to do. Especially considering his own employees have seen the worst part of this kind of rabid fanboyism when his own security team members had to go onto IRC chats to stop disgruntled modded Xbox owners from posting their, and their families IP's, emails, and phone numbers on 4Chan. He should remember that before he goes ahead and Tweets this sort of stuff.

1) I posted it on here, then linked to it on n4g.
2) I'm interested in the video game industry, i'm a gamer. I'm allowed to care about things like this of someone who regularly reads sites like N4G.
3) As you can see, i don't post much here - its usually more important stuff, and as i said on N4G multiple times, its more of a "i'll see where this goes" post than anything else.

Other than that, i think you need to get some perspective. You seem to be exaggerating everything I've said or supposed to of said, "making something out of nothing all the time" - all the time? Care to link me to even one other place where i'm making something out of nothing?

Oh and FYI, there were 5 replies by me in that post on n4g. All about the topic..

Alright guys, this isn't no Microsoft vs Sony rubbish. I care not for that. I care for how people in the public eye, who have the job of speaking to the public supporting insults being thrown at a competitors fan base.

This isn't really anything against Aaron either, he seems like a nice guy in his video interviews. I think he needs to know how to correctly present himself to the world in regards to the competition though, he isn't helping microsofts reputaiton.

I didn't read that guys entire article, and I don't care to. "Ratings given to games are all opinion and vary with different writers and perspectives, so don't make a fuss over a low score" was his major argument as I saw it. Well while they aren't something to be offended over, they most certainly are supposed to come under the scrutiny of the fan base, that is the entire point of posting opinion pieces; to drum up discussion! What the hell is it to be human if we don't speak our mind?

His statement that there is a difference between fans and fanboys in nonsense. "Fan," short for fanatic implied, I thought, exactly what he defined a fanboy as. I mean we don't call fans of Michael Jackson fanboys when they got wound up over certain allegations, and we don't call Manchester United fans, fanboys when they trash half a city, do we?
